Um, no

Two posts about Scientology in a row must be a trend:

RUPERT EVERETT has delivered a double-edged defence of Scientology, labelling it “no more ridiculous” than any other religion.

His spoke out in defence of his mate TOM CRUISE’s beliefs after German officials branded his new movie, being filmed in the country, a “money-making cult to aid his religion”.

The German Protestant Church then compared Tom to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

But Rupert responded: “People say Scientology is ridiculous, but it’s no more ridiculous than the virgin birth, really.

Let’s see…no, it’s more ridiculous. The virgin birth has a pedigree. It’s nonsense that’s found its way into all sorts of religious beliefs. It’s respectable, time-honored craziness. Scientology is a bad sci-fi movie coupled with inane ideas about psychotherapy.

I mean, I love Battlestar Galactica, but if Edward James Olmos starts claiming he had a vision that we Earthlings are really the 13th tribe and the story is all true, I’m not believing him. I can almost get my head around a deity impregnating some woman a long time ago. I have no idea why someone would believe what came out of the drug-addled mind of a delusional fiction author.

People say Scientology is ridiculous, but it’s no more ridiculous than the virgin birth, really.

    So it is ridiculous, then?
