Behold the brilliance of former child actors

Apparently ABC is going to air a debate between evangelists Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron and Brian Sapient and Kelly of the “Rational Response Squad” (a mediocre group from what I’ve seen). Comfort claims he can prove the existence of God in 13 minutes, which is sort of amusing. After a solid couple thousand years of trying by our most brilliant philosophers, these two yahoos have done it. Color me skeptical.

Actually, the “proof” is apparently the old “design requires a designer” nonsense. In a related note, Comfort came up with the most mind-bogglingly stupid proof of God I’ve ever seen. In one of his videos he asserts that a banana is evidence for God, due to the fact that it has ridges that fit our hands and a “pull tab” on the top. Seriously.

In any case, that’s Wednesday night. I doubt it’ll be that interesting, though a major network showing a religious debate seems pretty uncommon.
