Downsides to 26-in-52

Man, I really want to read Tony Judt’s Postwar, but it’s 800 frickin’ pages. That’ll take me a month at a solid pace and completely wreck my attempt to read 26 books this year.

I suppose I can’t complain when that’s my most prominent personal problem at the moment.

It’s a problem I’m acutely aware of. Which is why my mission this year is actually to surprise my previous page total, rather than a specific number of discrete books. I just keep the meme name because it’s catchy.

This is an issue because I kind of want to attempt D. Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest, but I’m frightened by its size.

And yes, that’s what she said, rimshot, etc.
