Sparkle Season

I watched a clip on MM the other day where Neil Gabler on Fox News Watch goes off on this “war on Christmas” nonsense. Pretty good stuff, but one of the other guys mentioned a bizarre incident that supposedly happened in Pittsburgh:

You know, a few years ago in Pittsburgh, there was an edict in one of the school districts that if you were an employee in that school district, you couldn’t say “Merry Christmas” to a kid. A memo came down — you had to say, “Happy Sparkle Season.”

I thought that was just a bit strange. And of course, I immediately wondered if it was actually true. Bryant seems to have found the answer: not so much.
