A meme
As I said last post, I was this close. No more.
Where did you graduate from and what year?
Troy High School, 2002.
Who was your significant other?
No one. Shyness and geekiness are not great combinations there.
Was your Prom a night to remember?
See above.
What was your favorite song you danced to the night of Prom?
See above.
Do you own all 4 yearbooks?
I think I have one, plus a senior book we did.
What was your favorite movie in high school?
The Matrix.
What was your number 1 choice of college in high school?
I only applied to MSU, it being fairly close, fairly cheap, and a having a decent CS department.
What radio station did you jam out to in high school?
I never really listened to the radio, but if anything it was 105.7 The Peak, an alternative rock station out of Spokane. I think it’s now a classic rock station or something, but I haven’t listened to it at least since my senior year.
Were you involved in any organizations or clubs?
Nope. I was involved in sports: basketball as a freshman and sophomore, football as a senior.
What was your favorite class in high school?
Physics.
Who was your big crush in high school?
Meh.
Would you say you’ve changed a lot since highschool?
I’m more interested in serious (politics, religion, science, etc) subjects now. But nothing really dramatic.
What do you miss the most about it?
A few teachers and friends.
Your worst memory of HS?
Nothing stands out. Going with high school-related memories, a friend of mine drowned the summer before my senior year.
Did you have a car?
As a junior and senior I had an early 80′s Toyota pickup. Second half of my senior year I had the vehicle I have now, a 97 Chevy S-10.
What were your school colors?
Maroon and gold.
Who was your favorite teacher?
Tony Smith (history) and Cliff Berra (science and math). Jim Dasios gets an honorable mention for being hilarious (and offensive).
Did you own a cell phone in high school?
No and I still don’t have one.
Did you leave campus for lunch?
Occasionally.
If so, where was your favorite place to go eat?
One of the benches outside or the auditorium.
Were you always late to class?
Never.
Did you ever have to stay for Sat. School?
Nope.
Did you ever ditch?
Negative.
When it comes time for the reunion will you be there?
Probably not. In all honesty, I can just go back at any point and see many of my classmates. Not the ones I want to see, though.
WordPress 2.0
Upgraded to 2.0 now. No problems so far. All of my plugins actually work. I’m not entirely sure I like the new Write Post page layout, but we’ll see.
And yes, I am upgrading my blog on New Year’s Eve. I’m this close to doing a meme, too.
If anyone happens to be curious, I went to Kalispell on Thursday, saw King Kong (meh), spent the night, and went skiing at Blacktail (oh the search engine hits I’ll be getting). Fun, except Blacktail was only approximately 1/4 open. Of course, it’s completely open today.
An answer?
I said I was confused about why Bush would bypass FISA warrants for his wiretaps. It looks like they weren’t good enough for warrants:
WASHINGTON, Dec. 26 (UPI) — U.S. President George Bush decided to skip seeking warrants for international wiretaps because the court was challenging him at an unprecedented rate.
So, this is the sort of scary part. FISA warrants are notoriously easy to obtain and yet Bush’s requests often require at least some modification. What exactly is he doing?

Christmas is over
Well, it’s all over. The presents, the food, all finished. It was fun, except for making the hard drive work in my family’s computer. I actually had to call Seagate’s tech support for that. Of course, I was on hold for about an hour and solved the problem before actually speaking to anyone, but I don’t like hearing tech support holding music anymore than anyone else.
Next up: New Years. I don’t really care about that though. No presents? I’ll pass.
G'bye again
Not that I’ve posted anything worthwhile this week anyway, but I’m done blogging for the weekend.
Happy holidays!

Back up
A brand new wireless router and I can get on the Internet again. Hooray for me.
First order of business, go read this. And check this out.
And with that, I think I’m done with this War on Christmas crap. It’s been obvious throughout this entire ordeal that these people don’t care about the truth, they care about demonizing non-Christians and getting their religion promoted by the government.
I'm confused
Admittedly, I haven’t been following the wiretapping stuff closely enough, but I don’t understand why Bush would do this. FISA courts are apparently pretty easy, so it has to be something that even they wouldn’t authorize.
That’s a bit scary.
Fun with power cables
I won’t be blogging for the next few days, as our wireless router seems to have gone bad from inadvertently using the wrong power cable. It’s fairly hard to blame anyone for this (though some jackasses in Kalispell seem to be the main culprit), forcing me to direct my anger elsewhere.
Oh look, Bush is spying on American citizens without warrants. Lovely.
In other news, I completely dismantled my laptop and replaced my noisy fan. I also beat my expected GPA by .2, getting a 3.3.
I'm better than these people
And by these people, I mean the people in this comment thread discussing the worst movies ever. Most of the ones they list I have avoided precisely because they looked so awful. Except, I have seen Ghost, which is a popular choice. I’d go with that or any movie ever produced by Sci-Fi (but that seems like cheating). Also, if you’ve seen Closer, this comment is hilarious.
I’ll be driving most of the day tomorrow, as this semester is over for me at ~10 am. I can’t help but think this break will be a disappointment, though. It’s just not going to be the same without Christmas.
