Spinning like mad
As found on the AFA’s web site:
Eric Rudolph Pleads Guilty to Bombing Olympics, Abortion Business
Rudolph has no connection with the pro-life movement, the he has been incorrectly described as an “anti-abortion crusader” by the Associated Press and “the alleged antiabortion bomber” by the Washington Post.
What? No connection? So, what, the Army of God isn’t part of the anti-abortion movement? Granted, it’s not mainstream, but it’s certainly on the fringe of the movement. Seems like it has some connection to Randall Terry, who’s not exactly a fringe figure.
No one is saying this guy is mainstream, but he’s certainly part of the anti-abortion movement. Most of the movement shouldn’t be tagged with the terrorist label because of Rudolph, but you can’t just pretend he and his ilk aren’t there. Violent rhetoric among abortion foes isn’t that uncommon and actual violence is the next step. Instead of spinning these people’s connections to the anti-abortion movement, maybe they should work on actually weeding them out of it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. They don’t know Michael Griffin, Paul Hill, John Burt, or any of the other convicted criminals who protested at family planning clinics and murdered or injured people.
They don’t “condone” the violence of these people, but they “understand it” as a reaction to the “murder” of the unborn.
They should have thought about “plausible deniability” before they printed the rants of these people and donated to their defense funds.
