Remember that song? The Nickelback parody with Someday on one channel and How You Remind Me on the other? NPR has their long-delayed interview with the creator here. Go have a listen.
I’m no nickelback lover but in the song the lyrics point to they almost wanted you to know. with phrazes like “lets rewrite an ending that fits” and a fun fact… if you go to http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~dcm25/nickelback.html and you go back and forth between the 2 speakers, you can hear them say stuff like “someday somehow> ill get to the bottom of every bottel. the > stands for you to swich.there are others and they fit so good they almost Have to be on purpose. but thats just my opinion.
I think you’re trying too hard. “Lets rewrite an ending that fits” doesn’t really mean anything in the context of two songs with the same structure, except if you’re really stretching, trying to make a connection. As for the lyrics lining up…people can find patterns in anything, i.e. people hearing voices in random noise/static.
