Couldn't pass it up

From Tom Tomorrow

Today:

“There’s no question that Saddam Hussein had al-Qaida ties,” the president said. But he also said, “We’ve had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with September the 11th.”

March:

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq; and

(2) acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107-243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Gutsy, but I think he’s right in thinking no one will call him on it. It appears they think they can score an honesty point by dismissing the idea of an Iraq-9/11 connection right now, before it gets into election season. And the fact that they have to admit a lie to do it doesn’t matter, because no one will call them on it. Around in circles we go.
